OPTIONS

All wooden sticks are finished with multiple coats of finish for a hard, durable appearance. For an additional $2.50 per stick (or $3.50 per pair for the No. 6 rollers), the wooden handles can be stained either walnut or cherry prior to finishing. Please specify "walnut" or "cherry" when ordering.

Sticks can be made either a little longer or shorter than the sizes described, but it is strongly recommended that customers order the sizes indicated. Please note that the length refers to the uncovered length of the handle and core, Customized sticks cannot be returned.

STICK DESCRIPTIONS:

No. 1 - Legato stick for resonant, individual strokes. 1-inch diameter straight wooden handle with wood core. Head covered with high-quality synthetic seal skin. Head is ca. 3.5 inches long and 3 inches wide. Overall length is approximately 17 inches.

No. 2. General purpose stick. 3/4 -inch diameter straight wooden handle with wood core. Head is ca. 3.5 inches long and 3 inches wide, covered with white American felt. Overall length is approximately 17 inches. (Note: The photo shows the No. 2 stick covered with synthetic seal skin, but I am currently using white felt as it provides a better contrast in sound with No. 1).

No. 3. Harder, articulate, green felt-covered stick. 3/4-inch diameter straight wooden handle with wood core. Head ca. 3.5 incles long and 2.5 inches wide. Overall length is approximately 17 inches.

No. 4.Hard stick covered with chamois for sharp, crisp, attacks or use on smaller bass drums (the "Radetsky March" is a good example of its use). 3/4-inch diameter straight wooden handle with wood ball core. Head ca. 2.5 inches long by 2 inches wide. Overall length is approximately 16 inches.

No. 5 Wooden stick. 3/4-inch diameter straight wooden handle with a 2-inch wooden ball. Overall length is approximately 16 inches.

No. 6. (Pair) Bass Drum Sticks for Rolling,5/8-inch diameter straight wooden handles approximately 17 inches long. Heads ca. 2.5 inch long by 2.5 inches wide. These sticks can be covered with high-quality synthetic seal skin or with white felt, depending on one's choice.

No. 7. Double-ended pair. This stick can be made on either a 1-inch or 3/4-inch diameter shaft. One can specify a choice of either a hollow aluminum handle or a solid wood shaft. One end has a general-purpose head covered with synthetic fur or white felt; the other end has a smaller, harder head covered with green felt. The heads have wood cores, and the felt is sewed (not glued) on. Length: approximately 18 inches.

No. 8. The "Rite of Spring" Sticks. This pair of bass drum sticks utilizes a round wooden core, ca. 1.5 inches in diameter and mounted on 3/4-inch wooden handles. Overall length is approximately 14 .5 inches". The core is covered with a durable chamois material. Intended for rapid, very articulate bass drum passages such as that found in Stravinsky's famous piece.
